Choose from six nominees for Cellcom Post-Crescent high school athlete of the week

Chase Calmes, Freedom baseball

Calmes allowed just two hits and struck out nine in Freedom’s 11-0 victory over Clintonville.

Brinley Dunsirn, Appleton North girls soccer

Dunsirn scored three goals and had an assist in North’s 5-3 victory over previously undefeated Bay Port.

Taiven Gass, Hortonville baseball

Gass threw a one-hit shutout in the Polar Bears’ 8-0 victory over Kaukauna. He struck out seven and allowed one walk.

Kyleigh Mathe, Neenah softball

Mathe had two hits and also got the win in the circle in the Rockets’ 7-0 victory over Kimberly. Mathe allowed three hits in six innings and struck out 12.

Vince Sigl, Seymour boys golf

Sigl fired a 68 to win medalist honors at the Jay Hill Memorial Best-Ball Tournament at Royal Scot.

Mason Winkler, Appleton East baseball

Winkler had three hits, including a double, and finished with four RBIs in East’s 13-2 victory over Appleton North.
