FOND DU LAC – Fond du Lac neighbors got a cheerful surprise last week: upbeat chalk messages, drawn by tiny hands.
Students and teachers from Ebenezer Child Care created a “Kindness Chalk Walk” around the center’s neighborhood as part of the Week of the Young Child, celebrated April 11-17.
The annual observance, led by the National Association for the Education of Young Children since 1971, highlights the needs of young children and families and recognizes early childhood educators.
“Kindness and positivity are traits that we are always aiming to encourage in today’s world, so we felt this was the perfect way to celebrate,” said Allie Teat, center director.
The colorful sidewalk notes were designed to brighten residents’ days and give families in the area an easy reason to smile on their next walk.
