Can the Brewers keep Cubs fans out of American Family Field? Here's one way they'll try

How are the Milwaukee Brewers going to keep their blue-and-red neighbors to the south from infiltrating the seats at American Family Field for the upcoming National League Division Series?

Well … they’re not — at least, not entirely.

When the Brewers and Chicago Cubs face off in the first postseason edition of the I-94 rivalry series for NLDS Game 1 on Oct. 4, there will no doubt be plenty of visiting fans in attendance.

But the Brewers, unsurprisingly, are trying to keep as many Cubs fans out of the stadium as possible.

In an email sent to season ticket holders in September regarding an exclusive presale for wild-card or NLDS tickets, the Brewers informed fans in bold lettering that “Postseason tickets purchased through this offer should not be resold.”

Doing so comes at a price, the Brewers are saying.

“Violations of this policy will forfeit your opportunity to participate in future presales for the 2025 Postseason and 2026 season,” the email continues.

While multiple season ticket holders told the Journal Sentinel they do not remember similar language being included in past playoff ticket emails from the team, a source with the Brewers said this is a standard rule every postseason.

Buy Brewers playoff tickets on Stubhub

In the past, the Brewers have done presales for Wisconsin residents only, including as recently as last season, but did not do so for the NLDS, which was sold out long before the Cubs beat the San Diego Padres in Game 3 of the NL Wild Card round on Oct. 2.

Tickets for Game 1 at American Family Field are sold out, standing room included. Games 2 and 5 are standing room only. If you want to purchase them on the secondary market, be prepared to pay up. The cheapest options on StubHub as of the final out of the Cubs’ Game 3 win were already over $200, with prices likely to keep going up until first pitch.

Brewers playoff schedule

The Brewers will play the Cubs in a best-of-five National League Division Series, beginning Oct. 4 at American Family Field.
