Business news in November included VR gaming center, Rupp's rebrand

SHEBOYGAN COUNTY – Wondering about the new virtual reality gaming center and when a cruise line is coming to Sheboygan? The top business stories in November covered those topics and more.

Also in business news, the Henry Christopher Hotel announced it will bring a restaurant called the Pharmacy and the Mullet Rooftop Bar when it opens in 2027, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration launched an investigation into the ruptured gas line incident that occurred near Cascade Nov. 14.

Rupp’s supper club rebrands as Downtown 925 Restaurant

The downtown supper club, formerly Rupp’s, recently rebranded and launched under a new name: Downtown 925 Restaurant & The Pelican Room Bar & Lounge.

It had been closed for renovations, but the new business owners shared on Facebook it reopened for limited restaurant service, offering Friday fish fry, Saturday prime rib and cocktails. The business is still hosting private parties. There is also a new upstairs parlor, too.

PowerPlay, a virtual reality gaming center, opens in Sheboygan 

PowerPlay Arena opened in mid-November at 2927 N. 15th St., near the northside Piggly Wiggly. It offers various virtual reality gaming areas, like four stationary play spaces, two racing simulators, and a large room-scale VR area for six players.

Owner Olufemi Tomori said he wanted to offer an activity in Sheboygan where kids, teens and adults could play together, similar to his inflatable rental business, Inflatable Parties.

Cruise ship coming to Sheboygan in summer 2026

American Cruise Line’s Patriot cruise ship will make four stops in Sheboygan next summer on the Lake Michigan & Upper Peninsula cruise line.

Passengers on the nine-day, eight-night cruise will stop in the city on day three of the trip. They will also make stops in Milwaukee, Green Bay and two cities in Michigan — Escanaba and Muskegon.
