Guard Kevin Porter Jr. will pick up his $5.39 million player option for next season, per HoopsHype, a USA TODAY NETWORK property.
The deadline for Porter to decide on his option was June 29. He played 38 games in an injury-plagued season, which included two surgeries on his right knee. When healthy, the 26-year-old had his dynamic moments as he averaged 17.4 points, 7.4 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game last season.
Had he played enough games to qualify as a statistical leader, Porter would have tied for sixth in the league in assists and would have been one of nine players to average at least 17 points and seven assists. Porter also had nine double-doubles of points and assists and another double-double of points and rebounds. He also recorded 2 triple-doubles.
Though his 3-point shooting dipped to 32%, he shot a career-best 46.5% from the field overall.
The Bucks originally acquired Porter at the 2025 trade deadline from the Los Angeles Clippers for MarJon Beauchamp.
