Michigan State basketball got their superstar back for one more season, with Jeremy Fears Jr. opting not to go to the NBA Draft, but instead, play another year in East Lansing. Fears flirted with the draft process, and worked out for a plethora of teams, but ultimately decided that it was better for his career to return to East Lansing.
Fears, who most likely would have been a second-round pick, will look to play himself into the first round of the 2027 NBA Draft.
With the conclusion of the 2026 NBA Draft, it is now time for way too early mock drafts to take form for the 2027 NBA Draft, where Fears is in the center of discussions.
In Sam Venecie’s way too early mock draft for The Athletic, Fears was listed as a player to watch noting that he will be a player that will be selected in the next edition of the NBA Draft.
“Fears was one of the best leaders and playmakers in the country this season and almost ended up staying in the draft. If he finds an answer for how to consistently score in the NBA, he’ll get picked next year.”
