Browns to debut new alternate helmet vs. Packers in Week 3

The Cleveland Browns will debut a new alternate helmet in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers. The new all-brown matte helmet, nicknamed “Alpha Dog,” will be worn three times during the 2025 season, the first coming on Sunday, Sept. 21 when the Packers visit Cleveland.

The Browns traditionally wear orange helmets. For better or worse, this new alternate helmet will allow the team to wear an all-brown helmet, uniform and pant combination for the first time ever.

The Packers will face at least two alternate or throwback looks during the first half of the 2025 regular season: Week 3 vs. the all-brown Browns and Week 8 vs. the throwback Pittsburgh Steelers, both on the road.

Per the Browns, Week 3 will be the first time in franchise history that the Browns wear a brown helmet.

Here’s a look at what the Packers will see on the field in Week 3:

The Browns will wear the helmet three times: Sept. 21 vs. the Packers, Oct. 19 vs. the Dolphins and Dec. 7 against the Titans.

Stay tuned on the uniform front. The Packers are planning to reveal a new throwback uniform and helmet combination on Thursday.
