Brandywine restaurant, a part of downtown Cedarburg since 2018, will close Nov. 7

Brandywine, a well-known restaurant in downtown Cedarburg, will be closing its doors after over seven years in business.

The restaurant’s final date operating will be Nov. 7, according to an announcement posted to social media platforms on Oct. 9.

The family-owned and operated restaurant has focused on offering Wisconsin-influenced dishes prepared with close-to-home ingredients, including hand-made pasta, small plates and entrees inspired by the seasons, according to the business’ website.

The restaurant’s chef and co-owner Andrew Wilson will be “returning to his roots, focusing on his passion that started it all,” according to the announcement.

Wilson has been a chef for around 24 years, previously working at Bacchus in Milwaukee, the Madison Club Madison, Trattoria Stefano in Sheboygan and other restaurants in California.

He’s co-owned the restaurant with his wife Rhiannon in one of Cedarburg’s historic buildings (dating back to 1862) at W61N480 Washington Ave. since it opened in 2018. Brandywine is named for the heirloom tomato, a favorite variety of Wilson’s mother.

“What began as a dream turned into something so much more, thanks to our amazing team, incredible guests, and the countless memories made inside these historic walls,” according to the social media posts. “We are endlessly grateful for your love and support through this chapter in our lives. What. A. Ride.”

“We’d love for you to join us for one last meal, a toast, and a proper goodbye,” according to the announcement.

The restaurant is open from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 5 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
