PLOVER – A combined Applebee’s and IHOP will open in Plover.
Siyavoush Soleimani Group, an Applebee’s and IHOP franchisee, confirmed to a Stevens Point Journal reporter the dual brand would open in Plover and Wisconsin Rapids.
Plover Applebee’s-IHOP location set at 1400 Commerce Place after Monk’s closes
A spokesperson for Dine Brands, parent company for both restaurants, confirmed to a Stevens Point Journal reporter the Plover location will open at 1400 Commerce Place in Plover, where Monk’s Bar & Grill opened in June 2019 and closed May 1.
Monk’s announced April 13 it would close May 1 after almost seven years after another business offered to purchase the building.
When will the dual-branded Applebee’s and IHOP open in Plover?
The spokesperson for Dine Brands said timelines for opening the dual-branded Applebee’s and IHOP could not be confirmed yet.
The company did not clarify if the existing IHOP on Village Park Drive would continue operating.
Applebee’s closed on U.S. 10 E. in Stevens Point in September 2019 after previously serving the community for 22 years.
What to expect from the Applebee’s-IHOP concept under one roof
“We’re looking forward to bringing dual-branded Applebee’s | IHOP restaurants to more cities throughout Wisconsin, including Wisconsin Rapids and Plover,” said Sam Soleimani, president and CEO of Siyavoush Soleimani Group.
“This concept brings together IHOP’s world-famous pancakes and breakfast favorites with Applebee’s boneless wings, burgers and more, giving guests the opportunity to enjoy the best of both brands any time of day, all under one roof,” Sam Soleimani added. “We will continue to share updates as they are confirmed.”
Marshfield opened Wisconsin’s first dual-branded Applebee’s-IHOP
The dual-branded concept opened last September in Marshfield after Dine Brands closed its Applebee’s in July 2025 as crews redesigned it to add the IHOP brand.
The company also opened a dual-branded Applebee’s and IHOP location in October.
Before the Marshfield dual-branded restaurant opened, a Dine Brands’ representative told a USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin reporter the idea for a dual brand came from the company’s internal partners.
Franchise owners started reaching out to the company, asking if they could own multiple brands within the Dine Brands portfolio, and the company saw a great opportunity to feature two iconic brands under one roof.
How dual-branded Applebee’s and IHOP restaurants work inside
At these dual-branded restaurants, guests choose to sit in either the Applebee’s-branded or IHOP-branded areas, although all guests can order anything from either brand’s menu. The menu itself is color-coded to note from which menu the dish came. The menu also offers unique options that can only be found at dual-branded locations.
Each renovation to create a dual-branded space incorporates décor specific to each brand under one roof, but each location’s design is specifically designed for that community.
The Marshfield location, for example, welcomed guests with a Marshfield city map in the entry way and included local photos and décor inside.
