This spring, quarterback Aaron Rodgers renewed his relationship with former Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy when he re-signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers for what he says is his final NFL season.
It looks like he’s reuniting with his family, too.
Rodgers posted a group of heartwarming photos on his Instagram account Monday night, July 20, with the caption “Another bonding week #fam.”
The 42-year old Rodgers, who played for the Packers from 2005 through 2022, spoke about the lengthy estrangement from his family in a 2024 Netflix documentary. His brother Jordan made the rift public when he was cast on the show “The Bachelorette” in 2016
“It’s just the way he’s chosen to do life,” Jordan Rodgers said in 2016. “I chose to stay close with my family and my parents and my brother [Luke].”
While Aaron Rodgers rarely spoke about the split with his family, he did address it both in the Netflix documentary and on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show” earlier this year.
“If you look at the saga with my family, for years, it was one-sided,” Rodgers said. “They were making shots in the media, saying bull—-. I never said anything until it got to the point where I’m like, ‘All right, enough is enough.’”
Rodgers also said part of the reason for the tension with his family was due a difference in religious beliefs.
Though Jordan didn’t appear in any of the photos Aaron posted, Aaron is pictured with his mother, Darla; his father, Ed; and his brother Luke.
After high-profile relationships with actress Olivia Munn, auto racing driver Danica Patrick and actress Shailene Woodley, Rodgers confirmed last summer that he was married. Rodgers said that his wife played a role in his decision to continue to play with the Steelers in 2026, his 22nd NFL season, and has revealed that his wife’s name is Brittani.
Last week, Rodgers posted photos that included some of his teammates at a Steelers retreat with the caption “Last Rodeo. #bonding week #.”
The Steelers and the Packers play a preseason game in Pittsburgh on Aug. 13.
