Aaron Rodgers credits his wife for the reunion with family

Earlier this week, Aaron Rodgers explained how his wife played a role in his return to the NFL and the Pittsburgh Steelers for one final season.

But that’s not the only major life decision she apparently has helped Rodgers with of late.

Rodgers told the NFL Network at Steelers training camp that his wife is the reason for his reunion he recently had with his family.

“I gotta give my wife a lot of credit,” the 42-year-old Rodgers said on Saturday, Aug. 1.

Rodgers had been estranged from his parents and brothers for over a decade, a feud that was brought to light during his younger brother’s appearance on “The Bachelorette” in 2016.

He has kept much of his feelings about the estrangement to himself and during his conversation with the NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt, Rodgers said getting to the point of reconnecting with his family has “been a couple year process.”

Rodgers revealed that getting to the point of a full reunion with his mom, dad and brother, Luke, is due to his wife.

“A big part of it was getting married and having those conversations with my wife that allowed me to kind of open up of the possibility of coming together,” Rodgers said.

Rodgers said his wife wasn’t pushing him but it happened through her “love” and “support.”

“Having her by my side during this process has been really special,” he said. “I miss those relationships and there were reasons for it that don’t need to be talked about. I’m thankful that’s come all the way around.”

Here’s more about Aaron Rodgers’ wife and his reunion with his family and the role she played in it:

Who is Aaron Rodgers’ wife?

Aaron Rodgers’ wife is named Brittani but little is known about her. She has not been seen publicly with Rodgers as the quarterback has said she wants to live a private life. However, Rodgers has been mentioning her more lately and her influence in his life.

Rodgers first revealed that he had a new girlfriend in December 2024 and called it “a serious relationship” months later during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” when he talked about whether he wanted to continue his career at the time.

While the identity of his wife is a mystery, Rodgers has provided a few more details about their relationship in the last year and how much being married has meant to him.

“I got the most incredible wife. I just really love her, and I’m so thankful to have her by my side at the end,” Rodgers told Brandt last year. “When you meet the right one, and you’re with the right one, your whole world changes in a second. To have that person that unconditionally loves you behind the scenes, there’s no better feeling in the world.”

He said during another appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” this year he first met Brittani in 2017 when he was still the quarterback of the Packers but they weren’t in a relationship then and she apparently left the country.

“When we met back in 2017, I knew that there was something crazy special about this and I wanted to be with her,” he said. “And she would make funny comments like ‘I would never live in Green Bay’ and ‘I don’t want to be a player’s wife.’ She’s not a public person. And then she moved back across the pond.”

In the years to follow, Rodgers would go on to be in well-documented relationships with race car driver Danica Patrick and actress Shailene Woodley, including having a year-long engagement with the latter.

When did Aaron Rodgers get married?

Aaron Rodgers said he’s been married since spring 2025.

His wedding ring was first spotted during his appearance at the Kentucky Derby in May 2025. He confirmed his marital status upon reporting to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ mini camp the following month when asked if what he was wearing was a wedding band.

Rodgers said he had been married “a couple months.”

He didn’t provide any more details about the wedding or his wife at that time.

Who his wife is has been of high interest since then and Rodgers has sounded off on those who want more information.

Rodgers said during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” in March he and his wife had to move from his Malibu, California, beach house due to stalkers trying to get a picture of the two.

“The obsession is (expletive) bizarre. That’s the only way to put it,” he said. “The obsession is really bizarre. … We’re not living at the beach anymore. Part of it is I have legitimate stalkers and I don’t say that lightly or flippantly.”

Aaron Rodgers’ reunion with his family

Aaron Rodgers broke the news himself of the reunion with his family after releasing a series of photos on his Instagram account last month.

“There’s been a narrative that’s gone on for too long that I wanted to shut down,” he told Brandt in the new interview Aug. 1 about his estrangement with his family.

Rodgers called it “really beautiful to reconnect with them.” Rodgers emphasized that he has reconnected with “all of them.”

Rodgers said he spent a long weekend in Nashville with parents, brother [Luke] and his “sweet wife” and their two kids.

“So I got to be an uncle,” Rodgers said with a smile.

“It’s really special,” he said. “A lot of my life has been full circle the last year and that was part of it. I knew it was part of it. And I’m happy to be reunited. That part of my life is a really beautiful addition.”

And he says he has his wife to thank for it.
