3 weekend events you don’t want to miss May 21-25 in Wisconsin Rapids

The Last Radio Show

The Silver Foxes will present “The Last Radio Show” at 2 p.m. May 21 and at 7 p.m. May 22 at the Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre auditorium, 220 Third Ave. S., Suite No. 6 in Wisconsin Rapids. The play is a comedy set in 1948 and follows a radio station facing shutdown and the crew trying to save the station from closure. Wisconsin Rapids Municipal Zoo

The Wisconsin Rapids Municipal Zoo will officially open for the 2026 season at 10 a.m. May 23 at 1911 Gaynor Ave. in Wisconsin Rapids. This weekend, the zoo will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 23-25, then will start its regular hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. S’mores & Tours

The South Wood County YMCA will host a S’mores & Tours event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 23 at Camp Alexander, 1053 Camp Road in Port Edwards. The open house-style event will show guests where day campers spend their time, let them explore the grounds and meet some of the camp staff. Guests are asked to RSVP in advance so there’s enough marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers for everyone to make s’mores.
