The Iowa men’s basketball program has been on a heater recently.
Just a few months ago, the Hawkeyes made their first Elite Eight appearance in nearly 40 years. They followed that up by landing Jaidyn Coon, Andrew McKeever, and Ty’Reek Coleman for next year’s roster. And then they extended head coach Ben McCollum, who has changed the program’s entire trajectory.
McCollum and the Hawks are looking to keep that momentum going in the recruiting world. They’ll have a great opportunity to do just that next month.
On Tuesday, Dushawn London of 247Sports reported that Iowa will be hosting 2027 four-star point guard Tyrone Jamison for a visit on June 14.
Jamison is from Shreveport, Louisiana, and Calvary Baptist Academy High School. The Hawkeyes offered the 6-foot-1 guard last August. Jamison is the 49th-best player in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports. He also holds offers from Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, Louisville, and Miami (FL), among many other schools.
Iowa will be just the second school that Jamison has visited. He went to Maryland way back on January 2. McCollum getting him on campus next month is a huge win for the program’s pursuit of Jamison. They’ll have a chance to show him and his family in person what the program is all about.
The Hawkeyes do not have a commitment in the 2027 class yet. Jamison would be quite the start to that group if Iowa can land his talents.
