$1 million Powerball ticket sold in Milwaukee area

A lucky Powerball player in Brown Deer has won $1 million.

The winning ticket from the Dec. 22 drawing was purchased at the Walmart Supercenter at 6300 W. Brown Deer Road, Wisconsin Lottery officials said Dec. 23. It matched five numbers (3-18-36-41-54) but not the Powerball (7).

Two other Wisconsin Powerball players also won big from that drawing. Two tickets – one purchased in Glendale and the other in Sheboygan Falls – won $50,000 for matching four of the five numbers.

The Glendale winning ticket was purchased at the BP at 7156 N. Green Bay Road, while the Sheboygan Falls winner’s ticket came from the Petro Center at 1010 Fond du Lac Ave.

But the lottery winners in southeastern Wisconsin don’t stop there. A $100,000 All or Nothing ticket was purchased at the Mobil at 14035 W. Capitol Dr. in Brookfield on Dec. 22. The ticket won the top prize for matching none of the drawn numbers, according to Wisconsin Lottery.

Because no one has won all six numbers in the current Powerball jackpot run, the jackpot amount is continuing to grow, now on its 46th drawing. According to the Wisconsin Lottery, the estimated jackpot for the Dec. 23 Powerball drawing is $1.6 billion – the fourth-largest in Powerball history and the fifth-largest among all U.S. lottery jackpots.

This is the second time in Powerball history that there have been two jackpots exceeding $1 billion in the same calendar year. The only other time this happened was in 2023, according to the Wisconsin Lottery.

In the last four Powerball drawings, 12 winning tickets of $50,000 or more have been sold in Wisconsin, according to the Wisconsin Lottery.
