After surviving a tumultuous environment in Gainesville, Florida, the Texas Tech Lady Raiders softball team will begin its quest for the first softball national championship in school history. The Women’s College World Series tournament will begin in Game 1 between Texas Tech and Mississippi State on Thursday at 11 a.m. CT.
Last season, the Lady Raiders came up short in the deciding Game 3 of the championship series against Texas. The team looks for retribution this season. Players like Lauren Allred and Nijaree Canady will lay it all on the line, given that this is their last shot before their eligibility runs out.
