Free agency is over.
The NFL Draft is in the rear.
Now comes a jump into the 2026 regular season for the Houston Texans amid a run to their first-ever Super Bowl appearance.
While Houston secured the most wins in franchise history since 2012 with an even dozen, that wasn’t enough to clinch the AFC South crown. Since the Jackosnville Jaguars won 13 games, the Texans will face a second-place schedule during the 2026 NFL season.
Houston knows its opponents, but the league has yet to announce the finalized schedule. That’s expected to be done later on this month, including providing an update on dates and bye weeks.
In addition to playing their AFC South opponents twice, the Texans will face the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Chargers and Green Bay Packers, all of which finished second in their respecitve divisions.
As for the league’s ruling on division-on-division matchups, Houston will take on the NFC East and the AFC North. Home games will be against the Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants. The Texans will hit the road to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders and Cleveland Browns.
Here’s a full look at the Texans’ opponents in 2026.
Houston Texans 2026 Opponents
The Texans were knocked out of the NFL playoffs by the New England Patriots in the AFC Divisional Round last season, so revenge is on the mind of folks at Reliant Stadium this fall. As for the nationally televised games, keep a close eye on Buffalo — a matchup that has brought in rave reviews — as the top candidate for a Sunday Night Football event.
The Texans might also be considered a favorite for Monday Night Football against in-state foe Dallas, as the two sides have met four times in the last 10 appearance as a standalone game.
