Wichita Falls’ newest grocery market has opened for business.
Misael Santoyo, regional manager for La Mexicana Meat Market, said the business had a trial opening Sunday that went well, so they decided to keep it open.
The parking lot at 3906 Jacksboro Highway was full Monday afternoon.
“We had a few glitches here and there, but we’re running, Santoyo said.
He said the store will have some kind of grand opening event in a few weeks.
Santoyo said the market will offer fresh and marinated meats and fresh produce in addition to standard grocery items.
It also has a deli and a small bakery.
He said the store will be open 7 a.m.-10 p.m. seven days a week.
Plans for the grocery store began in August 2024 at a projected cost of $1 million, according to paperwork filed with the state.
Santoyo said the opening date was delayed because of delivery of materials.
The 7,220 square-foot market is in a revamped former Family Dollar building.
