The Texas Tech basketball team is in Houston for what is officially a matchup of Top 15-ranked teams.
The Red Raiders (11-3, 1-0) moved up two spots in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll, coming in at No. 14 this week. That’s the same ranking Texas Tech occupies in the Associated Press Top 25, which returned after skipping last week.
Texas Tech is coming off a 102-80 home win over Oklahoma State. This week the Red Raiders are on the road, starting Tuesday with a game at Houston, which is ranked seventh in the coaches poll. Then Tech will head to Boulder to take on Colorado on Saturday.
Six Big 12 Conference teams are ranked in this week’s coaches poll. Arizona leads the way with the No. 2 ranking, followed by Iowa State at No. 3. Houston is seventh, BYU ninth, Texas Tech 14 and Kansas 21st. UCF is just outside the rankings here but joined the rankings in the AP Top 25.
