Texas A&M’s 2026 roster will be challenged this fall, primarily by the tough SEC schedule, which includes road tests at LSU, Missouri, South Carolina, Alabama, and Oklahoma. Hosting rival Texas at the end of the regular season remains one of the most important games of the season and could determine whether the team makes the College Football Playoff.
Entering his third season at the helm, coach Mike Elko and his newly formed staff added 17 players from the transfer portal, and after seeing a record 10 players selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, including star wide receiver KC Concepcion and unanimous All-American edge Cashius Howell, who were selected in the first and second rounds back in late April.
Even with the ten departures, the return of starting quarterback Marcel Reed, wide receiver Mario Craver, running backs Rueben Owens and Jamarion Morrow, paired with defensive tackle DJ Hicks and one of the deepest secondaries in the country, provides Mike Elko and his staff plenty of star power to once again compete for a postseason bid.
Before the release of the much-anticipated College Football 27 video game, EA Sports has begun to release several rankings, including the list of the “most intimidating stadiums,” with Texas A&M’s Kyle Field coming in at No. 10, while Tuesday’s release of every Power Four and Group of Five team saw the Aggies coming in 14th overall with a clean 86 rating overall on offense and defense.
