A Wichita Falls ISD teacher died after being hit by a vehicle while crossing Southwest Parkway on foot Christmas Day, Wichita Falls police said in a media release.
Police responded at 6:18 p.m. to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 6700 block of Southwest Parkway, police said. The vehicle was going north in the left lane, and the driver did not see the man crossing the road from east to west.
Brad Boddy, 69, was transported to United Regional Health Care System for his injuries, police said. But he was pronounced deceased.
WFISD offered condolences to Boddy’s friends, family and the Memorial High School Community in the wake of the tragic loss of the Memorial High education teacher and joined them in mourning him, officials said in a Facebook post late Christmas evening.
“Mr. Boddy was a dedicated educator who cared deeply for his students and colleagues, and his impact will be felt across the Memorial High School community and our district,” WFISD officials said.
