Nearly half a dozen of Texas A&M’s 2026 commits are taking part in the annual Rival Five-Star event this week, including four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory and four-star edge/linebacker Samu Moala, who have both shut down their recruitment and will sign with the Aggies during the Early Signing Period on December 4.
Both prospects, especially Gregory, are considered borderline elite. At the same time, Moala primarily chose the Aggies over UCLA to stay as an edge rusher despite his ability to play linebacker at a high level. On Tuesday, during various drills, Gregory and Moala looked the part and should make a seamless transition at the next level once they make their way to College Station.
Gregory, who is a favorite among all of us who cover Texas A&M recruiting, has continued to impress as a route runner and is beginning to shine against the best defensive back competition in the 2026 cycle. In this video, the cornerback is playing off coverage, but Gregory perfectly runs his route, beats his defender, and makes his way to the endzone while showing off his speed down the sideline.
On the other side, Samu Moala looks excellent in coverage against tight ends and wide receivers, as he is expected to play the Jack position in Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko’s defense, where he will need to cover tight ends in the seam and drop back in coverage at a high rate.
This is a great sign and not surprising for two players who I believe have star potential as soon as they enter their sophomore season with the Aggies.
