This offseason, Texas A&M basketball coach Bucky McMillan officially entered his second season at the helm after leading the Aggies to the NCAA Tournament, mainly due to the collection of veteran transfer additions, led by senior forward Rashaun Agee, who led the team in scoring and rebounds during his one and only season in College Station.
While making the postseason was the primary goal, Indiana transfer forward Mackenzie Mgbako missed all but seven games during the 2025-2026 season due to a foot injury that required surgery, but after recovering for the remainder of the year, and five month’s through the 2026 offseason, the former five-star prospect and McDonald’s All-American is back in the swing of things, and ready to compete for a starting job.
After landing six players from the transfer portal, including star shooting guard PJ Haggerty, and NBA G-League guard Bryson Warren, the Aggies are well equipped to not just make it back to the NCAA Tournament, but make a serious run if the Mgbakos’ health issues don’t become a concern.
Thanks to TexAgs basketball analyst Luke Evangelist for sharing the clip. Mackenzie Mgbako is practicing his three-point shooting this summer and was successfully draining shots from the logo, which is required in Bucky McMillan’s fast-paced offense.
If Mgbako matches the production we saw from him during last year’s NBA Summer League performance, Texas A&M’s offense will be hitting on all cylinders and will likely average at least 90 points per game this coming season.
