U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz has introduced a bill that would expand childcare facilities at Dyess Air Force Base near Abilene, according to a news release.
Cruz introduced the Dyess CDC Addition Design Authorization Act in June that would expand childcare at the base in Taylor County, including enhancements to the existing Child Development Center (CDC).
“We have a duty to ensure that military families in Texas and across the country should never have to worry about accessing childcare near where they are stationed,” Cruz said. “Expanding childcare facilities at Dyess Air Force Base will significantly enhance the quality of life for the servicemen and women stationed in Abilene. I call on my colleagues to swiftly pass this legislation.”
