Law enforcement agencies carried out “a major enforcement operation” targeting commercial vehicle safety in Wichita County on Thursday, a Wichita County Sheriff’s Office media release said.
Operation June Bug involved the Sheriff’s Office patrol and commercial vehicle units joining forces with the Texas Department of Public Safety’s weights and measures units and the Electra Police Department, the media release said.
The operation resulted in over 200 traffic and vehicle stops combined, as well as several big rig impoundments, according to the media release.

Agency detentions:
Those detained were from Mexico, India, Cuba, Algeria, Venezuela, Tajikistan and Russia, the media release said.
“This operation is a strong example of teamwork between local and state law enforcement agencies working together to keep our highways, communities, and commercial traffic safe,” Sheriff William Rutledge said in the media release.
