The high school soccer playoffs have reached the regional finals, with teams one win away from a trip to the state semifinals.
Two teams from the Amarillo area are still standing, as Amarillo High and Randall compete on Monday and Tuesday to continue their march through the postseason.
The Lady Raiders head to Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls on Monday for a 5 p.m. showdown against Godley in the Region I-4A Division II finals. The winner will play again in the state semifinals, which are set for April 3-5.
Randall reached the fourth round of the playoffs after taking down Bridgeport, San Elizario and Benbrook. Brooke French and Jess Ledesma each scored in the team’s 2-1 win against Benbrook to help propel the team into the regional finals.
French’s performance came after a strong showing on the track at the Amarillo Relays the previous weekend, placing third in the 3,200-meter run, 1,600-meter run and 800-meter run.

Coach Whitney Bernard’s team has achieved a 20-5-1 record on the season, and has the chance to continue an impressive 2025 campaign with a win on Monday.
After winning District 3-5A without losing a game in league play, the Lady Sandies have continued their strong campaign into the playoffs. AHS took down Abilene High 2-0, El Paso High 5-2 and Birdville 2-0, and has been led by strong performances from Sophie Ferro, Saylor Carroll, Sofia Pepper and Chloe Godinez, among others.
With a season record of 20-1-2, Amarillo High will take on Colleyville Heritage at Burkburnett High School on Tuesday, April 1 in the Region I-5A Division I finals. A win would put the Lady Sandies into the state semifinals.
Colleyville Heritage took down Tascosa to reach the regional finals, and should be a solid opponent for coach Stacey McPherson’s team. Still, AHS hasn’t lost a game since Jan. 4 when the team fell 2-1 to Denton Guyer and should be up for the challenge of facing another DFW-area program.
