The 42nd annual Tri-State Open Chili Championship’s chili cook-off takes place Saturday, Jan. 10 in the Rex Baxter Building at the Tri-State Fairgrounds.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and admission is free. Tasting cups are $5 each, which let attendees sample various chili entries and vote for their favorites. All proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Participating cooks will be competing for the title of chili champion and a chance to advance to the Terlingua International Chili Cook-Off.

Along with the sampling and judging, the event will have live music and live and silent auctions.
