After an athletics career that spanned 14 years at Randall, including the past two in which he headed up the boy’s basketball program, Trevor Johnson stepped down Wednesday to accept a job as the principal at Claude High School.
During that span with the Raiders, Randall was an assistant for 10 years under the late Leslie Broadhurst before being promoted to take over the program for the past two years. In 2024, Broadhurst retired after 36 seasons and was the only boys basketball coach Randall had ever had.
In his two years as the head coach, Johnson helped the Raiders advance to the regional championship game and regional semifinals, respectively, in Class 4A Division II. Randall finished with a 31-5 mark in Johnson’s first year, but ended 15-21 in his final campaign, via Maxpreps. District play included a 24-4 tally, aided by a 14-0 record in his first season.
