The Community Foundation of Abilene has announced an exciting new partnership with Tigé Boats Inc., a local, nationally renowned luxury wake boat manufacturer, to establish a new charitable fund, the Tigé Boats Community Fund.
“As a family-owned company, taking care of the community we call home is just part of who we are and what we stand for,” said Charlie Pigeon, Tigé Boats owner and founder. “We wanted to create something that reflects the heart of this company.”

Through significant charitable contributions, the Tigé Boats Community Fund will direct grants annually to organizations and causes, with emphasis on initiatives that support children and youth, a media release said.
Administered by the Community Foundation of Abilene, the fund is built to award grants yearly, creating a lasting impact on the Abilene community.
“At the Foundation, we partner with individuals and organizations in supporting their charitable visions,” said Katie Alford, the Community Foundation of Abilene president and CEO. “We are honored to serve as a connecting point for them, sharing our knowledge of local community needs.”
Tigé Boats has also announced the launch of a second fund, the Tigé Scholarship Program. The new annual scholarship will be awarded to dependent children of current Tigé Boats employees seeking higher education.
“Our people are the foundation of everything we build at Tigé, and this scholarship is our way of honoring the families behind them,” said Pigeon.
Recipients of the scholarship will be selected through the foundation’s independent scholarship selection committees.
“For more than 30 years, Tigé Boats has been woven into the fabric of Abilene,” said Alford. “This fund is a reflection of what happens when a great company chooses to invest in the community that helped make it great.”
