To make it to nationals roping, a college student must have amassed at least 300 points in a season. Yarbrough, a native of Palmer, posted 706 points for 2025-26, putting him seventh nationally in the College Division.

Later next month, Sam Lewis of Amarillo and Caleb Lake of Bayfield, Colorado, will represent ASU at the 2026 College Nationals Finals Rodeo. That event will be June 14-20 in Casper, Wyoming. Lewis will compete in tie-down roping while Lake’s event will be steer wrestling.

Only the top three competitors in the final standing of each event in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association’s 12 regions qualify for Nationals in Wyoming. Lewis is Reserve Champion in tie-down roping after finishing second in the Lone Star Region. Lake finished third in the region in steer wrestling.

“I am very excited for Logan, Sam and Caleb on their individual qualifications,” said ASU Rodeo Coach Casey Sisk. “They have worked hard all year, and these three young men have what it takes to bring national titles back here to ASU. I couldn’t be more proud of all our team members and what they have accomplished this season.”

This was their third season on the NIRA circuit for ASU with the men finishing fourth overall in the region and the women’s team taking fifth. The men’s team also notched its first event victory by winning the Vernon College Rodeo in November.

Other top overall performances by ASU rodeo athletes included:
