This Wichita Falls restaurant came tumbling down Monday

What once was a restaurant in Wichita Falls was just a pile of rubble Monday afternoon.

The former Johnny Carino’s at 4330 Kell West Blvd. fell to a wrecking machine to make way for an entirely different kind of eatery.

A new steakhouse is scheduled to be built at the site, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The TDLR said a Longhorn Steakhouse will be erected, consisting of 5,800 square feet.

Cost of construction will be $1.85 million and completion is expected to be May 16, 2027.

Johnny Carino’s closed in late April. No reason was given for the closure.
