A man and a woman were detained following in a SWAT standoff after a person was found dead inside a home in West El Paso, a police spokeswoman said.
Detectives with the Crimes Against Persons Unit are investigating to determine what occurred at a home on Tuesday, Aug. 18, in a neighborhood off Belvidere Street.
The incident began about 3 p.m. Tuesday when police officers responded to a call about an unknown problem at a home in the 6800 block of Villa Hermosa Drive, El Paso police spokeswoman Detective Judy Oviedo said.
When officers arrived, they found a person dead inside a home while a man and a woman, who are believed to be in their late 20s, where also barricaded in the house, Oviedo said.
The El Paso Police Department’s special weapons and tactics team and crisis management team were deployed to the scene. The man and woman were detained Tuesday evening, Oviedo said.
The names of those involved were not immediately released as an investigation continued Tuesday night.
