Texas Tech has 4 defenders among nation's best in EA Sports CFB27

We are just a few days away from the first release of EA Sports College Football 27, one of the most highly anticipated sports games to come out in the last few years.

Over the last several days, EA Sports has been releasing teasers and ranking updates, showing who is rated where, and which teams are the best in the game upon release. It’s no secret that the Red Raiders defense is expected to be one of the nation’s best going into this year.

Texas Tech has the No. 4 defense in the game, according to EA, rated 90 overall. Four of their defenders are also ranked among the five best at their position in the game, as well.

Linebacker Ben Roberts leads the way, rated as the No. 2 LB in the game, and a 91 overall. They also have cornerback Bryce Pollack, who is a 93 overall, and the No. 2 CB in the game. Defensive lineman A.J. Holmes is rated a 92 and is the No. 4 DT in the game, and fellow LB Austin Romaine is a 91 overall and the No. 4 LB in the game.

Tech’s offense may be a little bit behind, not ranked inside the top 10, but they do have the No. 2 TE in the game with Terrance Carter Jr. If the Red Raiders’ defense can hold up and be as dominant as expected, the offense shouldn’t be an issue in 2026.
