The Texas Tech Red Raiders could be lining up to add another commit to the 2027 recruiting class. On Monday, Rivals reported that three-star cornerback Jett Watson of Georgia will make his commitment announcement on May 15.
Watson has narrowed down his list of schools to Arkansas, Boston College, Kansas State, and Wisconsin, along with the Red Raiders. Head coach Joey McGuire and general manager James Blanchard haven’t shied away from recruiting in the state of Georgia. In the 2026 cycle, the team added three-star quarterback Stephen Cannon and five-star edge rusher LaDamion Guyton. Both came from Benedictine Military School in Savannah, Georgia.
There aren’t any crystal ball predictions for which way Watson will lean on his commitment day, but you have to feel confident in the Red Raiders’ chances considering the program’s trajectory as of late. The No. 2-ranked class, according to Rivals, doesn’t currently have a pledge in the secondary.
