As with Class 5A, 4A and 3A, Dave Campbell’s Texas Football has analyzed and made preseason predictions for Class 2A Texas high school football teams across the Lone Star State.
Next up in the 2025 Texas high school football preseason predictions is Class 2A Division II.
In the Big Country and West Texas area, there are two 2A DII districts that feature two of the highly competitive districts in the greater Abilene area — District 6-2A DII and District 7-2A DII.
Before diving into DCTF’s predictions for these deep West Texas districts, the Albany Lions earned the top spot among Big Country squads in Dave Campbell’s preseason 2A DII statewide rankings, with Albany securing the No. 4 spot.
Roscoe quarterback Jace Arnwine and Albany defensive back Huffman Heatley were recognized by DCTF as the Preseason All-District Offensive and Defensive MVPs, respectively, in District 7-2A DII.
