Texas A&M’s 2026 season is a little over three months away, and while third-year coach Mike Elko and his staff are looking forward to the short break before fall practice, starting this weekend, the Aggies will host a talented list of 2027 prospects, including several of the program’s 14 blue-chip commitments.
Confirmed this weekend by AggieYell insider Joseph Hastings, 2027 five-star cornerback John Meredith will head to Texas A&M for his official visit after moving up the date, and while the blue-chip defensive back received a prediction to land with the Texas Longhorns, this weekend’s OV could help the Aggies re-take the lead.
After landing five-star offensive tackle Mark Matthews this month, Texas A&M’s future offensive line now features fellow five-star IOL Kennedy Brown, and four-star tackles DeMarrion Johnson and Kaeden Scott. While Johnson has already shut down his recruitment, Matthews, Brown, and Scott have repeatedly made it clear that College Station is their future home.
Still, until pen hits paper, nothing is official, but after five-star safety Kamarui Dorsey and four-star edge Kaden McCarty shut down their recruitments this past weekend, Mike Elko’s culture shift continues to pay dividends. Joining McCarty, Dorsey, and Brown this weekend, three more Texas A&M commits, safety JayQuan Snell, wide receiver Jaden Upshaw, and defensive lineman Myels Smith will also make their way back to College Station this weekend.
According to On3 insider Steve Wiltfong, other blue-chip prospects set to take their official visits include five-star offensive lineman Ismael Camara; five-star wide receiver Eric McFarland; four-star edge Frederick Ards III; and, confirmed this weekend, four-star linebacker Mikahi Allen.
Still, one of the key and more underrated names to watch is three-star safety and Miami (OH) commit Errol Kerns III, who is now receiving a ton of attention from Michigan and Ohio State.
