While the dreary weather has bumped up the start time of Game 2, it has been anything but doom and gloom for the powerful Texas A&M lineup, as the Aggies look to take the series against the LSU Tigers on Saturday evening at Alex Box Stadium.
Texas A&M struck first by taking the series opener against LSU on Friday night, led by freshman outfielder Jorian Wilson’s two home runs and all Aggies in the lineup getting on base. Entering Saturday’s contest against the Tigers, the Aggies boast a 29-7 (10-5 in SEC play) record, with sole possession of second place in the current league standings. Texas A&M’s offense has been firing on all cylinders in the second season under head coach Michael Earley, as the club has recorded 18 outings with 10 or more runs scored so far this season.

Aiden Sims will start on the bump for Texas A&M and William Schmidt for LSU in Game 2. Entering the weekend, Sims boasts a 6-0 record and a 3.56 ERA with 51 strikeouts so far this season. Schmidt has struck out 63 hitters and has a 3.22 ERA with a 4-3 record for the Tigers.
