Coming into the 2025 football season, the central question on the offensive side of the ball was how much Marcel Reed had progressed during the offseason. It turns out he made significant strides toward becoming the player he is today.
The Heisman campaign is now in full swing, with Texas A&M unveiling “Marcel Mode,” a website designed to make the case for Reed as one of the award’s finalists. It was also recently announced that he has been named a Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award finalist. Reed is currently ranked in the top 10 nationally in total touchdowns (28), yards per completion (14.7), and yards per play (8.2), while also ranking in the top 20 in passing yards (2,632).
The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award is presented annually to the nation’s top senior or upperclassman quarterback who is on track to graduate with their class, embodying not only outstanding on-field performance but also character, citizenship, and leadership.
Texas A&M will return to Kyle Field this weekend for Senior Day to face Samford, just one week after its historic comeback victory over the Gamecocks. Kickoff against the Bulldogs is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT and will be broadcast live on SEC Network+.
