Texas A&M is predicted to land 2026 4-star Edge out of Alabama

Texas A&M’s recruiting success this month has only been matched by the USC Trojans, who currently hold the No. 1-ranked 2026 cycle, with the Aggies sitting in second place, after landing five commitments last week, including multiple five-star prospects, while Wednesday’s huge day included landing commitments from four-star offensive tackles Avery Morcho and Zaden Krempin.

While coach Mike Elko and O-line coach Adam Cushing deserve plenty of recognition for continuing to build in the trenches, Texas A&M is now the favorite to land another elite 2026 edge prospect after five-star edge Tristian Givens committed to the Aggies last Saturday.

According to Rivals insider Sam Spiegelman, Elko and defensive line coaches Sean Spencer and Tony Jerod-Eddie have been on their own heater in the 2026 cycle, as four-star edge Jaquez Wilkes is now predicted to land with the Aggies over Auburn, Miami, and Alabama, as the Georgia and Alabama have slowly become recruiting pipelines for Texas A&M under Elko and his staff.

However, Wilkes did take his final official visit of the summer with the Hurricanes, so it’s safe to say that Miami is still in the mix.

Wilkes is highly versatile, playing on both sides of the ball at running back and linebacker during his prep career at Wadley HS (AL), but projects as a outside linebacker/edge due to his speed, strength, and athletic profile that will make him a feared pass rusher and coverage ace at the next level.

According to Rivals, Wilkes is currently projected as the 118th-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, the 16th-ranked edge, and the 9th-ranked prospect out of Alabama.
