Texas 2-Step: Lady Raiders and Longhorns battle for softball supremacy

Texas Tech continues to break the mold in college athletics, which has ruffled some feathers, as it has been painted as the villain of the college sports world. And that’s ok with them. Second baseman Mia Williams, who has been at the center of some perceived controversy, likes just being Texas Tech. The labels are for everyone else to paint the Lady Raiders as.

Ironically enough, the football head coaches of these two programs have been barking at each other during spring meetings, but it will be the softball programs who let the play on the field do all the talking. The stakes are high since this isn’t about a week one game in college football; this is the WCWS Championship.

Last year, the Lady Raiders started the WCWS Championship with a 2-1 loss to Texas. It will be about getting off to a better start this time around. Tech certainly has a better offense than they had a year ago, and Canady has some pitching help with fellow 20-game winner, Kaitlyn Terry.
