Sidy Sow will be looking for a new home in 2026.
According to the Houston Texans’ transcript, the franchise waived the former New England Patriots starting offensive guard ahead of Tuesday’s practice. Sow will likely clear waivers and be eligible to sign with another team for camp starting on Wednesday morning.
Sow, who previously worked with Texans offensive line coach Cole Popovich and offensive coordinator Nick Caley in New England, started one game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at NRG Stadium, but was quickly replaced after the first quarter following a pair of poor drives in pass protection.
Since being signed out of Eastern Michigan, Sow has played in 28 career games between multiple stops, including Houston and New England.
This offseason, Houston invested time and resources to bolster its interior offensive line. Several moves include the signings of All-Pro Wyatt Teller, the re-signing of standout Ed Ingram, plus the drafting of Georgia Tech’s Keylan Rutledge in Round 1 and Oklahoma’s Febechi Nwaiwu on Day 3.
The Texans return to practice on Tuesday for the second stage of OTAs.
