Texans draft two-time All-American Indiana standout LB Aiden Fisher

Perhaps the best pick of Day 3 was saved for last.

Of course, the Houston Texans wanted a champion to join the squad.

With pick No. 243, the Texans landed Indiana linebacker Adien Fisher to bolster the second level of the defense. He should be considered a fan favorite and a Day 3 gem should he transform into the next standout for DeMeco Ryans’ defense.

Fisher ended his time in Bloomington as the program’s first defender to earn multiple All-America nods. He becomes the first Hoosiers linebacker to be drafted since Micah McFadden, who was selected in the fifth round of the 2022 draft by the New York Giants.

As part of the class that followed Curt Cignetti from James Madison to Indiana, Fisher was the anchor of the Hoosiers’ defense for two years under Bryant Haines. Fisher finished second on the team with 97 tackles, marking his third straight season with more than 95 tackles. For his career, he racked up over 300 career tackles.

At the NFL combine, Fisher ran a 4.75 40-time and finished with a 10-foot-3 broad jump. He also bench pressed 225 pounds 18 times and posted a 37.5-inch vertical jump.

A team captain for three seasons under Cignetti, scouts have called him a hard worker and film junkie. Known for having a quick and elite football IQ, especially in the pre-snap advantage, there’s a chance for the Texans to land a stud to close out the draft class.
