A business that will cater to the sweet tooth plans to open in Wichita Falls.
The Peach Cobbler Factory, a dessert restaurant, will open in January at 4111 Southwest Parkway.
Wichitan Jennifer McFarland and her husband, Matt, are owners.
“We sell cobblers, ice cream, banana pudding, cinnamon rolls, churros, shakes,” McFarland said. “There’s a variety of different items.”
She said she and her husband were in a shopping center in San Antonio this past May and saw a big lit up sign that said Peach Cobbler Factory.
“It was like, oh, peach cobbler, that sounds delicious. How would something like this do in Wichita? I think it would do really well because we just don’t have anything like that here,” she said.
This will be the first venture into the food business for the couple, who are native Wichitans.
McFarland said her husband is a partner in an automobile dealership, and she is a tax accountant, a skill she believes will come in handy in their new endeavor.
“A big hurdle for a lot of business owners is the accounting side of things. It can be expensive,” she said.
She said once an opening date is set, the store will have a soft opening followed by a big grand opening.
MacFarland said Peach Cobbler Factory is headquartered in Florida and has about 120 stores nationwide.
The local store will be in the space formerly occupied by the NobiliTea specialty drink shop.
