Late June and early July in Texas means the latest installment of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football hits mailboxes and store shelves across the state, previewing the 2025 college and high school football season before fall practices begin in early August.
As we hurdle closer to the first Friday night lights on August 29, the Standard-Times will preview every West Texas and San Angelo-area district alongside DCTF in anticipation for the 2025 season.
Flipping through the pages of the 2025 edition, the first high school classification previewed and analyzed is the largest in the state, Class 6A.
Here is what the statewide publication anticipated for the San Angelo area’s lone Class 6A team, San Angelo Central, and District 2-6A, the little southwest conference.
