The No. 2 seed Texas Longhorns are one and done in the SEC Postseason Baseball Tournament after being dominated by the Arkansas Razorbacks in Hoover, Alabama. The Hogs pounded UT pitching early and often in the 8-1 win.
Texas coach Jim Schlossnagle used eight pitchers in the loss. Longhorns starter Cody Howard, the losing pitcher, gave up six runs (five earned) in the first two innings and was replaced by the third inning.
After a leadoff hit-by-pitch, Camden Kozeal smacked a two-run blast to put the Razorbacks ahead, 2-0 in the first inning. Nolan Souza capped off the three-run inning with a two-out base hit to scoreTJ Pompey.
Arkansas right-hander Gabe Gaeckle struck out nine in six scoreless innings to earn the win. Gaeckle scattered just three hits and one walk in his 76-pitch effort out of the bullpen.
Texas must now wait for the 2026 NCAA Baseball Tournament selection show at 11 a.m. CT Monday on ESPN2 to find out if they will host a regional in Austin.
