NFL confirms dates for Texans offseason program: Rookie minicamp, OTAs and more

The Houston Texans now know where the next stage of the offseason begins.

The NFL officially announced dates for 2026 offseason programs on Wednesday, confirming that the next crop of players joining the AFC South franchise will report for rookie minicamp on May 7-9.

Veterans who have already reported for voluntary workouts ahead of the draft. The next month of the program will be weight training and conditioning, but on-field drills won’t begin until the organized team activities (OTAs) start at the end of the month. OTAs will go from May 27-June 4, followed by mandatory minicamp, which begins June 9.

The key storyline everyone will be following is the status of Pro Bowl quarterback C.J. Stroud and he progresses in 2026. This is a roster ready to win now and features stability around the offensive line and defense following a strong offseason.

Texans offseason schedule

The Texans will look to compete for the division title after winning 12 games but being the highest wild-card team of the 2025 season.
