Man accused of standing over, shooting other man in Winton Hills

A Winton Hills man is accused of shooting and killing another man last year, according to Cincinnati police.

Taki Roseman Jr., 30, is charged with murder in Hamilton County Municipal Court. He was arrested April 30 in connection with the fatal shooting of 31-year-old Sherron Peoples, police said in a news release.

Officers were called on the evening of Sept. 3 to the 60 block of Craft Street in Winton Hills for a reported shooting. When they arrived at the scene, police learned that Peoples had been shot.

Peoples was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he died of his injuries, police said.

Surveillance footage showed Roseman on top of Peoples, assaulting the man, a detective wrote in an affidavit.

Roseman then backed off and searched for an item while Peoples remained on the ground, the document states. He’s accused of standing over Peoples and pulling the trigger.

Police said the investigation is based on electronic evidence, witness statements and video footage. Court records did not list an attorney representing Roseman as of the publication of this report. He’s expected to be arraigned on May 1.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call the Cincinnati Police Department’s homicide unit at 513-352-3542.
