An iconic entertainment and pizza restaurant has announced it is eyeing Lubbock for a comeback, according to a company news release issued Tuesday.
Mr Gatti’s Pizza confirmed it wants to rejoin the Hub City scene it previously served for decades, before shutting down in 2021.
“Lubbock has always been a meaningful market for our brand, and we see a unique opportunity to reintroduce Mr Gatti’s in a way that feels both familiar and new,” said Travis Smith, executive vice president of Mr Gatti’s Pizza. “There’s strong nostalgia tied to the brand, but just as importantly, there’s growing demand for family-friendly entertainment experiences.”
Specifically, it wants a franchisee to open one of the brand’s Family Entertainment Centers. This updated concept combines pizza, buffet, private party rooms, group event spaces, prize centers and arcade games, in order to drive repeat visits.
The franchise noted the reasons behind the possible return included the area’s growing population, students, families, and a community that is already familiar with the brand.
“We’ve seen time and again that returning to markets with established brand equity creates a strong foundation for success,” Smith said. “Lubbock checks all the boxes with strong population growth, community pride and a history with our brand. With the right partner, we’re confident this market can support a new Family Entertainment Center.”
According to the Gatti’s franchising site, the brand expects to double in size over the next 3 years. The initial investment range averages between $2,118,000 to $6,310,000, depending on variables. People can reach out to the franchise at gattispizzafranchise.com.
