MASON − The third round of the Cincinnati Open continues on Tuesday, Aug. 18 from the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
The Monday session featured several stellar matches between some of the biggest stars in tennis. Serena Williams made her first Cincinnati Open appearance since 2022, teaming up with sister, Venus, in doubles. The Williams sisters fell in a three-set tie break to Mason native Peyton Stearns and Marta Kostyuk.
On the ATP side, top-seeded Alexander Zverev is on the hunt for his second Cincinnati Open finals. He prevailed in a tight Center Court battle over France’s Terence Atmane.
On Tuesday, five top 5 seeds (across both tours) will be in action in the singles draw. Former WTA Cincinnati Open champions will play in the Round of 32 as Coco Gauff faces compatriot Ann Li on Center Court to wrap up the day session and top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka opens the night session against Xinyu Wang.
ATP No. 4 seed Daniil Medvedev, who threw out the first pitch at the Reds-Cardinals game Monday night, will face American Brandon Nakashima on Grandstand.

WTA qualifier Xiyu Wang advances to Cincinnati Open Round of 16
WTA qualifier Xiyu Wang is through to the Round of 16 after No. 8 seed Elina Svitolina withdrew.
Wang, the World No. 108, reached the Round of 16 at Roland Garros earlier this summer after beginning in qualifying.

Nuno Borges, who entered just 9-31 all-time against top 20 opponents, just beat Andey Rublev in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, on Center Court in just 1 hour, 12 minutes.

American Madison Keys, the WTA No. 20 seed, just took the first set against No. 33 seed Katerina Siniakova on Grandstand, 6-1.
