The results are in for the Lubbock County municipal elections.
Here are the final but unofficial results for the May 2, 2026 municipal elections in Lubbock, Abernathy, Idalou, New Deal, Slaton and Shallowater. Results will be final after they are canvassed later this month.
Lubbock City Council May 2026 election results
The elections for Lubbock City Council included a four-way race for mayor, and the 4-year terms for District 1, District 3 and District 5. Jennifer Wilson, incumbent for District 5, ran unopposed.

Peggy Bohmfalk – 7.8%
Stephen Sanders – 19.2%
Mark McBrayer (incumbent) – 70.3%
G. Todd Winans – 2.6%
District 1 City Council
Pat Kelly – 35.9%
Christy Martinez-Garcia (Incumbent) – 64.1%
District 3 City Council
Adam Hernandez – 40.6%
David Bruegel – 53.8%
Gil Caley – 5.6%
Lubbock-Cooper ISD May 2026 election results
There were four races for 4-year term trustee positions, two of which were unopposed. BJ Lewis and Koley Schaffner took the two seats, Place 3 and 7, respectively.

City of Abernanthy May 2026 election results
Abernathy voted between four candidates to fill three council seats. Candidates included:
Melinda Timms – 15.4%
Eva Cortez – 24.7%
Robert Prater – 28.4%
Matthew Speer – 31.6%
Abernanthy ISD May 2026 election results
Six candidates ran to fill two at-large trustee seats for Abernathy ISD:
City of Idalou May 2026 election results
Five candidates ran for one at-large member seat on the council:
New Deal ISD May 2026 election results
New Deal ISD had four candidates run for two at-large trustee seats:
Brad Proctor – 25.7%
Alex Saenz – 22.4%
Casey Bigham – 28.7%
Timothy Seeley – 23.2%
Roosevelt ISD May 2026 election results
Place 1 trustee
Josue Renteria – 34.8%
Travis McCallister – 65.2%
City of Slaton May 2026 election results
Voters in Slaton had two candidates to choose from for a new mayor:
Clif Shaw – 63.25%
Mike DeLano – 36.75%

According to the bond election order from SISD, voters voted on the following measures:

Irma Jaramillo – 31.9%
