Kylie Alvarez has been a prominent figure for the El Paso High School girls soccer program during her four years on the varsity team.
And as her high school career winds down and she prepares to start her final playoff push on Thursday, March 19 in the Class 5A bidistrict round against El Dorado, Alvarez is eager to finish strong.
“This has been a really strong team and great team to be with,” Alvarez said. “We’ve accomplished so much and it’s a team that has come together nicely.”

Alvarez has scored 65 goals and dished out 43 assists, has been an All-District 1-5A performer all four years, was named the top forward in District 1-5A in 2025 and was named to the All-City team last year by the El Paso Times. She has helped the team reach the playoffs all four years and the team has won multiple district titles.
“I’ve tried to be the best teammate and the hardest working player I can be through the years,” said Alvarez, who helped the team win a District 1-5A title this year. “The game means so much to me and the time spent here at El Paso High has made me better all around.”

Freshman Shae Alvarez is on the varsity team with Kylie and it was a special season for both players.
Shae said Kylie has been a mentor for her through the years.
“Kylie has worked so hard to get where’s she’s at in her career,” Shae said. “She’s helped me get better as a player. Kylie has great awareness as a player and is so smart.”
Added Kylie: “Getting to play with Shae has been a great experience. She has really worked hard to deserve her spot on the varsity team. It’s been a learning experience for both of us.”

“Kylie is such a great teammate and player,” Fargo said. “She has had a great career for us and she has a bright future.”
What’s next for Kylie Alvarez after high school?
Alvarez had multiple college offers on various levels, but will get the opportunity to stay home and play for UTEP.
“Being able to play Division I soccer and do it in my hometown is a tremendous opportunity,” Alvarez said. “I want to help the UTEP program get better and I’m excited for that challenge.”
